I decided to take photos in my house, outside on my porch, and in the yard because it gave me a wide range of options and I knew I would be able to capture most of these photos. I printed out the list and had it on a clipboard, so I could easily look at it as I was going along. I was able to come up with some of them quickly, but others took me a few minutes (like looking through a frame or photo in a bright light).
For the looking through a frame, I probably took 6 different photos outside with various flowers, as I was having trouble with the shadow, I finally found the lilies under a tree and that helped immensely in getting the right angle and no shadow on the flowers. Having the sun out today was helpful for the shadow picture and the bright light, which some might say isn’t quite what was asked, but I thought the sun behind the American flag was a perfect shot.
I tried to think not just about the object but also the background, for instance, the picture of my husband’s shoes, I ended up putting in our guest room bedroom because the flooring is really neat with the different directionally wood pieces.
The photo that I feel is inventive would be the solid color photo of green fabric. In the first picture I took, the fabric was just smooth, so I ended up with a green box with no depth. After realizing this, I messed up the fabric and shifted it around, so I still had a solid color, but it has depth, contrast, high and low points, and captures your attention more.

Overall this was a lot of fun, but also a little stressed to see if I would make it through the list in 15 minutes, which was part of the fun too. I didn’t have a clue on what to do for something futurist, make an inanimate object look alive, or metaphor for complexity, so curious if anyone else came up with those or would have suggestions for me?
I had trouble embedding the Flickr link on the website and after several tries and the Flickr block on WordPress not working, I embedded the link via just the text below.
