That’s Not What I Expected
For this visual assignment, we had to take a close-up picture of something to see if anyone can guess what it is. I had to “outside the box” so to speak on this one because some of the pictures might be too easy, but then also decide what exactly would be the picture. I think there would have been a lot of pictures I could have taken, and even now, I’m looking around my office and seeing objects, corners, or centers of things that could be used. This would be a fun scavenger hunt to do for kids as a summer activity around the house or outside in the yard.
I decided to pick an object outside but stayed away from bark, leaves, and flowers – because I felt those would be too easy. I did take a few of those pictures, but I had to get extremely close and then the image wouldn’t focus with my camera and the image was just out of focus. I know that I could have used those photos, but I wanted something in focus. The following item is an object that is outside although I do have this object inside my home, but it is in a different color.
The image to the right is a close-up of a larger object. At one time it was soft but is now hard. It is a small object, but when added with many others just like it, it will become something that can hold back many larger things.
